Launch Event

South West Healthy Schools Plus was officially launched in Bristol in February 2009.

With every Local Authority and Primary Care Trust in the South West of England involved in the programme, the launch event gathered many of the region’s Directors of Children’s Services, Directors of Public Health and Local Programme Co-ordinators together, alongside headteachers, teachers and other key stakeholders.

South West Healthy Schools Plus was announced in the Department of Health’s publication Health Inequalities: Progress and Next Steps (2008) and the launch provided an exciting opportunity for participants to learn more about the programme and allowed them to help inform and contribute to its future direction.
