Peter underlined that the South West is the leading region for schools participating in the National Healthy Schools Programme (99.6%) and achieving National Healthy School Status (80%). He also described the NHSP as a development vehicle which recognises the invaluable contribution of health and wellbeing to school achievement. Peter added: “Gaining NHSS has given schools the skills and knowledge which will underpin future work on the most pressing health and wellbeing issues that face children and young people in the South West today.”
