She also explained the 6 steps of the Healthy Schools Plus model, as follows:

  1. The big picture - identify needs. Analyse local data from LPCO and NHSP Mapping Tool.
  2. Identify priorities and Healthier Behaviour Outcomes.  Local/school priorities and priority groups must be agreed with Local Programme Co-ordinators.
  3. Carry out a baseline survey to help schools clarify targets and measure progress.
  4. Plan actions and identify early success criteria. Actions should be evidence based and meet good practice guidelines.
  5. Monitor progress and take necessary action.
  6. Review success and agree further actions.
